Flights are getting a complete lot cheaper as airways rush to fill empty seats by the top of the 12 months.
Airways have a report 260 million seats to fill by the top of the fourth quarter, which is up by almost 8% from final 12 months, based on info obtained by CNBC from aviation knowledge agency Cirium.
To hit their purpose, some airways are providing flights at low fares, together with Southwest Airways, which supplied a sale of one-way fights from Atlanta to Nashville, Los Angeles to Las Vegas, and extra within the early morning and late night beginning at $29.

Southwest’s Chief Business Officer, Ryan Inexperienced, advised reporters on the Skift Aviation Discussion board that the airline is discounting flights and providing gross sales “a bit greater than regular” as a result of elevated flight capability, and thus the necessity to fill extra seats, per CNBC.
From September to October 2023, airline capability elevated by 2.1%, based on OAG’s Airline Frequency and Capability Development Statistics Report, which is up 0.8% from 2019.
Other than Southwest, Spirit can also be providing flights for simply $48.73, per CNBC.
In the meantime, the price of airline tickets is down by 13% from September 2022, based on NerdWallet’s Journey Inflation Report for November 2023.

Along with Southwest, JetBlue, Spirit, and Frontier Airways have reported fare drops between 12% to 32% in comparison with the earlier 12 months.
